About the Workshop
A zine is a self-published and independently produced publication — a space for images, texts, ideas and experimentation.

This three-hour workshop offers a brief introduction to the history and contemporary culture of fanzines and self-publishing. Guided by Deniz Beşer, participants will learn the basics of making a zine, including page layout, sequencing and different folding techniques.

Following a step-by-step demonstration, participants will create their own zine using the techniques introduced during the workshop. The zine created during the workshop is yours to take home.

No previous experience is required. Just bring your ideas and curiosity.

About Deniz Beser
Deniz Beser is a Vienna-based visual artist, curator and publisher working across zines, artist books, painting and self-publishing.
He is the founder of Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair and co-founder of Heyt be! Fanzin, platforms dedicated to independent publishing and alternative artistic practices.
Since 2010, Beser has published more than 50 zines, as well as his self-produced and hand-bound Sketch Diaries and the Heyt be! Fanzin Collection Book. His work has been presented internationally, and he has conducted zine-making workshops across Austria, Germany and Turkey.

Cancellation & Refunds

Places for the workshop are limited, so each booking is reserved specifically for the participant.
A full refund is available for cancellations received at least 21 days before the workshop date. If a booking is cancelled 20 to 14 days before the workshop, 50% of the workshop fee will be retained.
For cancellations made less than 14 days before the workshop, no refund will be available. The same applies in case of non-attendance.
