New Zine from Deniz Beser: "Wasted Public Space: Epic Fails of Some Statues in Turkey"

Step into a world where the bizarre meets the absurd, and where public spaces in Turkey are transformed into surreal art galleries. We are thrilled to present our latest zine, an exploration of the unique, often perplexing, and occasionally outrageous sculptures that have emerged in public spaces across the country.

"We have been facing absurd sculptures rising as eyesores in public spaces across all cities in Turkey for some time now. These public three-dimensional monuments are being designed through internal tenders by municipalities without any public initiative or decision, often involving various kickbacks, serving as a money laundering method for municipal officials.

Devoid of aesthetic concerns and resonating with intense kitsch perceptions, these forms signal a societal impoverishment. It is safe to say that visual violation is being inflicted upon our eyes through these sculptures in public spaces. -Deniz Beser"
